This Stokes Ave home was likely the most porous brick house we have ever encountered. Its walls were so deteriorated that our partner, Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh, had to build cheek walls and fill the structure with concrete to stabilize them. As part of the repair process, the walls were sealed with a layer of closed-cell spray foam.
As seen in the pictures below, there was no insulation in the attic. This home has since been upgraded with a hot water heat pump, a new high-efficiency furnace paired with a SEER2 20.5 2-ton heat pump, and new triple-pane windows with a U-value of 0.2.
Final home performance measurements will be available soon.
